ABOUT US

JOHN HANSEN  is a contributing author of the bestselling and award winning book "HE KILLED OUR JANNY:" A Family's Search for the Truth. Janny was his mother. The book is the shocking true story about John and his sisters' abusive childhood growing up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, their mother's fatal journey with a very evil man--their father--and their own investigation into the mysterious and unsolved death of their mother. John was raised in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado and resides in Gilbert, Arizona with his wife and son. He is currently a Major Account Manager with CenturyLink Communications in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended college at Metro State College and University of Northern Colorado with a major in Criminal Justice. He also attended the Community College of Aurora for Liberal Arts with an emphasis on communication and computer programming. John served in the US ARMY from 1984-1987/ Air Defense/Senior Gunner/Sergeant, and served one year in the Army Reserves.

John is a survivor of child abuse, a veteran of family violence, and is celebrating 17 1/2 years of sobriety. He works nationally to raise awareness against domestic violence, child abuse, and alcohol and drug abuse.

 

 

KIM HANSEN is an investigative researcher, Amazon bestselling children's author, illustrator, and muralist. She is married to John Hansen. Kim is credited for incorporating criminal and justice records, and purposed evidence of murder research in "HE KILLED OUR JANNY."  She was also one of the investigative researchers on another bestselling true crime book, "UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT:" The Multi-Layered Crime Spree and Murder by a Master Criminal Enterprise written by Sherrie Lueder and co-author Tyson Wrensch. One of the convicted killers, Kaushal Niroula, was the subject of a documentary on Investigation Discovery's new series FORBIDDEN, Series 1, Episode 9 "The Prince of Darkness". Both authors were interviewed and appeared in the documentary which originally aired October 10, 2013. She is a member of The American Investigative Society of Cold Cases (AISOCC).

"HE KILLED OUR JANNY" was self-published on Amazon's CreateSpace by Jak's Golden Knights, LLC, Gilbert, Arizona, on September 21, 2011, which marked the 27th anniversary of Janyce Hansen's death. Both John Hansen and Kim Hansen are co-owners and members of Jak's Golden Knights, along with Sherrie Lueder and Jill Hansen Smith. Within three months of the book's release it won two True Crime Book Awards: December 2011--Top 30 True Crime Book Awards; and January 2012--Top 10 True Crime Book Awards.

 

On March 20, 2012, Kim Cantrell with True Crime Zine Book Reviews gave "HE KILLED OUR JANNY" a 5 out of 5 star review saying "Book voyeurs who are able to tackle tough subject matter will love HE KILLED OUR JANNY." Within days, "HE KILLED OUR JANNY" went on to become one of Amazon's Top 100 Best Sellers in two categories (1) True Crime Murder/Mayhem and (2) Family Relationships/ Dysfunctional Families.  In April 2012, "HE KILLED OUR JANNY" was considered for the 21st Annual Colorado Book Awards.

 

Since May 28, 2013, the book has appeared on the iTunes book charts 21 times in the USA Nonfiction genre charts.  Today, "HE KILLED OUR JANNY" is still a favorite among true crime book lovers and remains an international bestseller on Amazon, KOBO, and iTunes.
